The Good News

The SFS Board of Directors and Facilities Committee have found a building in Middleborough, just eight minutes from our current location. It is in pristine condition and highly configurable to our needs. In addition, the seller is pleased for the school to own it and has offered to fund the mortgage. The Board of Directors has visited the site, we have had it closely inspected, and the faculty has also checked it out. All are unanimously enthusiastic!

Seventeen years ago, Samuel Fuller School began with a vision to help advance the kingdom of God through classical Christian education. Over that time we have served about 100 families and 200 students from twenty-two churches in over twenty towns. Our graduates have gone into the trades, colleges, and graduate school. Some are now married, working, and serving in their local churches. New England is a mission field, and we believe Samuel Fuller School serves a critical role in building mature and capable disciples of Jesus Christ to serve him here and around the world.

But for many years, the school has struggled with adequate space to meet. First Congregational Church has been a gracious host since our beginning, but we have stretched the limits of their ability to provide room, and that has restricted our ability to serve our students as well as we would like and to further implement our vision. But now there is the potential to own our own building with adequate space to serve our students for years to come. Praise the Lord!

Of course, this will come with a cost, and that is where our request comes in. Although we are still evaluating various room configurations, phasing options, and prices, this is what we know right now:

  • We need a $320,000 down payment to purchase the building.

  • We need about $30,000 in improvements to begin partial occupancy this fall.

  • We need between $400,000 and $900,000 to fit the school for full occupancy next fall.

  • We have $250,000 in savings toward these costs.

  • So, our need for additional funds is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.

In light of these figures, we are asking for $500,000 in pledges by July 31 to be fulfilled within one year.

Meeting this goal will do two things:

  • First, raising $500,000 in pledges in less than two months will give us confidence that the Lord is in this and he will provide additional funding as needed.

  • Second, this will allow us to purchase and occupy the building this fall and begin outfitting it for future years.

We realize this is an ambitious goal. However, compared to other options we have looked at over the past years, this building is a bargain. Furthermore, it is in such good condition that all the work we will do will be for improvements only, not repairs, thus increasing its value. We believe the Lord has opened this door for us and we should move forward in faith.

Will you please pray about what you can give? We as a board have already pledged $52,000. Will you join us and help Samuel Fuller School disciple children in New England now and for generations to come?

We encourage you to make your pledge as soon as you can. The sooner we reach our goal, the sooner we can take the next steps that will allow us to begin using the building this coming school year.

We understand you may have questions you would like answered before making such a commitment. Please do not hesitate to email us at info@samuelfullerschool.org or call the school at 508-947-3217. A member of the Board of Directors will be happy to talk with you.

What Happens Next?

By July 31, the SFS Board of Directors will evaluate the total pledge amount. If there is sufficient support to move forward, we will contact donors about setting up a timeline for you to fulfill your pledge over the next twelve months.

We will then enter into a lease-to-own agreement effective August 1st. This will allow us to immediately move grades five through twelve into the building for the 2025-26 school year. Then by December 31st, we plan to purchase the building outright, and begin making the improvements necessary for the entire school to meet there beginning September 2026. More specifics about the building and a timetable for improvements and occupancy may be found on the attached supplemental information page.

We thank you in advance for praying about and considering our request. Many of you who are receiving this have been praying with us about our future home for years. Thank you! This is an exciting opportunity for which we thank the Lord. We can think of few things more significant for eternity than investments such as this.
